We have many local restaurants just 2 miles of Stourview Cottage. The nearest village is called Wye (2miles) it has pubs, restaurant’s, doctors, post office a COOP supermarket with cash point machine. We can also advise on local reputable private caterers such as Claire from”Touchays” or Stella Grove to cater for all your needs. Or we have Tesco, Sainsbury, Coop & Waitrose superstores all close by in Ashford or arrange a delivery.

The International train Station at Ashford (under 5 miles) to Paris (in under 2 hours) and the fast link to London St Pancreas ( in just 30 mins ) Wye train station is just over one mile so within walking and cycling distance of our cottage and offers a slower service to London but still in under 2 hours.

Walking/cycling

We are situated high on the North Downs, offering fabulous walks directly from the property through neighbouring farmlands to renown walks & trails. The most popular walk is the North Downs Way allowing you to walk in the footsteps of pilgrims. This route runs from Winchester to Farnham, Winchester to Canterbury. For those looking to walk further can follow from Canterbury to Dover, before heading across the channel to France and onwards to Rome.

Faversham (8miles) Kent’s original Market Town, this pretty Medieval town is rich with listed buildings, the Fleur de Lis Museum and also is home to Britain’s oldest Brewer. Shepherd & Neame, which has a visitors centre offering tours, tasting and even weddings. This town holds many festivals, including the Brewery festival, Classic car &Spitfire Steam trains festival and the Apple fare at Brogdale, home to the worlds largest fruit collection. Local Country houses and gardens also offer days out, music and arts festival’s. Mount Ephraim, Belmont House & Gardens, Faversham Golf Course & Doddington Place & Gardens.

You can stroll around the castle and grounds or use a Sedgeway, a 40 min tour on a self balancing transporter.., play a round of golf, Go Ape on the High Wires in the forest adventure, finishing with a little shopping or lunch or tea in the Fairfax hall.
