Afternoon Tea £10 ppDining roomTea for Two

Due to food labelling laws, full ingredient list laws and the increase in food allergies we no longer serve homecooked afternoon tea and or supper. They are pre orderd and collected from a bakery or a local takeaway delivery service of your choice .

We collect or arrange delivery & set up placing for you in the dining room or garden:

Afternoon Tea (photo above shows 1 portion): Sandwich selection with, sausage rolls ( falafel or quiche or quorn eggs for veggie option ) mini Victoria sponge cakes, fruit scones with fresh cream & jam & biscuits £20.00 pp .

Or Just £10 to swap your included lunch for afternoon tea.

Min 6 persons for afternoon teas.

Gluten free available for afternoon tea and grilled fish from chip shop but not guaranteed for celiacs (takeaway use same fryers and grills) so please bring your own foods and we can refund you the cost from your package rate (£6.00).

Meals in the dining room or gardens only please, not in your lounge or bedrooms or you will be charged for additional cleaning.

Our nearest Pubs offering good quality food:

The nearest village is called Wye (2 miles) it has 4 great pubs, restaurant’s, doctors, post office a COOP supermarket with cash point machine.

Tesco, Sainsbury, Coop & Waitrose all in Ashford or feel free to arrange a delivery here.

Hire the dining room from £20 for cleaning & use of China, when bringing your own food for supper or lunch.

Papa Johns & Pizza Hut for pizza deliveries.

Wok Exspress for Chinese.

Marinos Kennington for Fish & chips (Pie & chips, Chicken & chips , scampi or sausage & chips or grilled, battered Halloumi, Veggie or beef burgers). They offer grilled fish or hallumi for gluten less options but not suitable for celiac.

 

The International train Station at Ashford (under 5 miles) to Paris (in under 2 hours) and the fast link to London St Pancreas ( in just 30 mins ) Wye train station is just over one mile so within walking and cycling distance of our cottage (although on country lane no footpath) and offers a slower service to London but still in under 2 hours.

Walking/cycling

We are situated high on the North Downs, offering fabulous walks directly from the property through neighbouring farmlands to renown walks & trails. The most popular walk is the North Downs Way allowing you to walk in the footsteps of pilgrims. This route runs from Winchester to Farnham, Winchester to Canterbury. For those looking to walk further can follow from Canterbury to Dover, before heading across the channel to France and onwards to Rome.

Faversham (8miles) Kent’s original Market Town, this pretty Medieval town is rich with listed buildings, the Fleur de Lis Museum and also is home to Britain’s oldest Brewer. Shepherd & Neame, which has a visitors centre offering tours, tasting and even weddings. This town holds many festivals, including the Brewery festival, Classic car &Spitfire Steam trains festival and the Apple fare at Brogdale, home to the worlds largest fruit collection. Local Country houses and gardens also offer days out, music and arts festival’s. Mount Ephraim, Belmont House & Gardens, Faversham Golf Course & Doddington Place & Gardens.

Canterbury ( 8 miles) Historic City with its famous Cathedral, Canterbury Tales Visitor attraction and Sex in the city style shopping @ Whitefriars, with numerous pubs, clubs and resturants to suite all tastes and cuisines.

Whitstable (just 10miles) offers a cosmopolitan Seaside location with the fabulous Oyster festival, numerous art galleries, fine restaurants & Boutiques. Famous for its selection of quality independent shops. Great selection of restaurants and fish n chip shop.

Maidstone (just 12 miles ) with the Riverside Wharf and popular River Festival , the Archbishops Palace, and fabulous shopping with Fremlin walk, Royal Star arcade and The Mall, along with its fabulous cobbled high street offering fun bars, clubs and comedy clubs.

Leeds castle (just 8 miles) Open all year round with its glorious gardens and attractions. You can stroll around the castle and grounds or use a Sedgeway, a 40 min tour on a self balancing transporter.., play a round of golf, Go Ape on the High Wires in the forest adventure, finishing with a little shopping or lunch or tea in the Fairfax hall.
